The Bengal’s coat is short, soft and silky and their pattern resembles a leopard’s fur. Usually its colors are brown, ice and marble, and may also be mixed, which gives them a wilder look. The most popular coat style of Bengal Cat is the spotted one. In this coat style, the skin covered in random, diagonally or horizontally aligned spots on the torso, tummy and legs just like you see it on Leopards. When it comes to shedding, Bengal cats are among the least shedders albeit they do shed. In order to reduce shedding and to maintain the luster of their skin, you will have to brush them regularly with a fine quality slicker brush. Also, whenever you are taking them for a bath, make sure you thoroughly brush them so that all kinds of minor mats and tangles are removed from the coat. You may also consider rinsing them with a high quality shampoo to bolster the sheen of their coat.

Himalayan Cat

The Himalayan coat is similar to the Persian Cat in resemblance. It has long, fine hair with a dense undercoat that contributes to an even greater volume. All the extremities (snout, paws, tail and ears) are darker and in their back and belly region, there is a lighter beige. Talking about colour, they generally come in dark brown, blue, chocolate, lilac, tortoiseshell and cream blue. Its fur, being long, requires frequent brushing, at least three times a week. Grooming is essential for this breed in order to make them look good and it is mainly because of their thick and long hair. A slicker brush is ideal for Himalayan Cats as this brush helps in removing tangles and matts from their coat. . Start by brushing your cat’s back and then moving to the sides of her body with the slicker brush. While brushing, reward your cats by giving them some delicious treats so that they enjoy the grooming session even more.

The most distinctive feature of Persian Cats is their fur itself. They have an extremely long and thick coat characterised by colours like Silver, Blue silver, Red, Brown, Blue, Cream, Cameo and Cream cameo. The Persian cat’s tail is feathered and dense. Their fur needs daily care, as its long and thin strands have a tendency to develop knots, causing irritation to the cats. Even if you miss just two or three sessions of grooming, you will notice their hair getting tangled. Speaking of grooming, you should have a comb and brush which will help in keeping the Persian Cat’s hair clean. Stainless steel combs and slicker brush especially will help a great deal in easily removing knots, dirt from the cat’s coat. When it comes to bathing, the frequency will completely depend upon your Persian’s fur. You can bathe them whenever you see their coat is getting dirtier and greasier.
